Chi Alpha + Your Church

Are you a youth group leader with transitioning seniors? A young adult who’s excited about Jesus but doesn’t know what following him will look like in college? A parent looking to get your child connected as they go out into the world on their own for the first time? Then this part is for you!

Paul, the apostle, wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:20,

“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.”

Our movement finds its identity in this passage. We believe that God longs for each and every person to be reconciled to himself, and that this reconciliation usually happens through the representation of his people. Each person who takes on the identity of “Christian” becomes Christ’s ambassador—or christou apostoloi in Greek, which we shorten to the first letters “Chi” and “Alpha,” or XA. Our name is our constant reminder that each of us have a real part to play in this world. We each carry him within us to bring him closer to the people around us.

Discipleship is at the heart of everything we do. We make disciples who make disciples who make disciples. This happens within the context of small groups, personal mentoring, leadership training and development, campus outreach, worship services, and more. We want to empower this generation to follow Jesus for life.
