March Women in Ministry Update

So much to share with you about the trip to Ecuador and the Prayer Tour. Let’s begin with the Ecuador trip.

Ten ladies from the OMN travelled to Guayaquil Ecuador to begin our exciting week, led by our own missionary Laurel Ellis. It was nonstop from the time we arrived. First day of arrival we headed to Cuenca which was a 5-hour drive through the Andes Mountains. On arrival we emptied our suitcases of all the items we had brought for both Night to Shine and the Pastors Wives Retreat. After about an hour we headed to help many special needs children and adults select their outfits for Night to Shine. It was such an emotional evening watching the joy and happiness expressed by each of these families. The team from Oregon was amazing. It had been a really long day, but the ladies worked hard to make everyone feel special. It didn’t take long for the Team Cuenca and Team Oregon to blend and become one. It flowed seamlessly as we worked alongside each other. Night to Shine was phenomenal! Pictures paint a thousand words. I’ll include some below. Wednesday evening, we went to one of the local churches. I was asked to preach and Laurel interpreted. It was a wonderful service and many lives were ministered to. The Retreat Center was where Night to Shine and the Pastors Wives Retreat took place. There were 40 pastors wives in attendance at their first retreat. Laurel worked very hard to get these ladies together and she had great success. Each person on the Oregon Team shared. The ladies were encouraged, motivated, challenged and blessed immensely by everyone.

Upon returning, I joined Bill on the last few days of the Prayer Tour. It was a highlight to be able to meet up with so many in each of the places we stopped. There was a sense of expectancy as we all prayed one for another. Words of encouragement were spoken and received. We’re believing that dreams are being inspired and answers to prayer are going to happen. Looking forward to seeing many of you at the Oregon Garden Getaway.

Trust

2020: A new decade to see what God has in store for each of us.

As I have contemplated the monthly letters for this year, I have felt that I would be transparent and honest, sharing the joys and the challenges of everyday life. So, I’ll start with admitting February was here before I knew it. Ever been there?

December and January were a whirlwind. We have been in and out of hospitals, rehab center, and now have placed Mom in an assisted living facility close to home. This month she turns 101. It’s been an amazing journey.

My personal word for the year is TRUST and it has definitely been tested. In the midst of difficulties, it is so easy to try and take things into your own hands. Many times we think we know what needs to be done and we press on. These past weeks have been ones where I couldn’t fix things and I’ve had to TRUST God with the answers.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding, in ALL your ways ACKNOWLEDGE Him and He will DIRECT your path. I’ve suggested that verse a time or two to others, now I’m saying it to myself.

Can you imagine how much less anxiety and fear we would have if we truly trusted God? I know it's not always easy, but I’ve been reminded again, God sees things we can’t see. He knows things we don’t know. And He wants us to trust His ways and His plans.

What are you having to trust God for in your life?

Let me encourage you today with these words:
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned;the flames will not set you ablaze (Is. 43:2).”

Today I’m thankful that the Lord continually reminds me that He is with me and He goes before me.

The Lord is MY SHEPHERD and He’s constantly watching over me and He’s constantly watching over every circumstance that you’re facing.

Choose today to walk in knowing God’s Word is truth. Believe it. Declare it.God loves you, He is with you, and no matter what you face, you can always trust Him.

I look forward to seeing you at the Oregon Garden Getaway. Get your reservations in today.

2020 Plan

Happy New Year!

What are you dreaming for in 2020? Many people start the New Year with a list of new goals and aspirations, only to lose hope by the end of January.

What can you do differently this year?

When we read in scripture about dreams you notice they don’t automatically happen. When you receive a God-sized dream it will always require God-sized faith. Sometimes you’ll feel it and other times you won’t but no matter what, you have to push through. This requires us to daily take time with the Lord to hear His plan. “Not my will, but Yours, Lord.”

I believe it is in silence and solitude that God speaks to us and shares with us things that He wants us to do. I have learned to write down what He speaks to me as a reminder that it was His idea not mine. My part is obedience to partner with Him.

2020 Plan
• Daily take time to hear and read His Word.
• Recognize that His ways and plans take time to come to fruition.
• Expect challenges and see them as opportunities.
• Stay positive.
• Ask others for input and assistance.
• Maintain a healthy balance in life and leadership to attain all God has in 2020.

Two dreams I believe God planted in my heart for 2020:

1) Oregon Garden Getaway
An opportunity for ALL women leaders in our churches to learn from others, connect with friends and to be inspired to dream for what God could do. If you have friends in other denominations who are leaders who would like to come, let us know. We would love to make this opportunity available.

2) 40 and Under One Day Conference
Northwest University Oregon Campus located in Brooks, Oregon. September 12, 8:30am-3:30pm. Connecting, listening, empowering, inspiring, and energizing women who are pastoring, leading, or administrating in ministry. A time to receive from others who have had many different life experiences in ministry and leadership. Plan now to attend.

Let’s make 2020 a year to remember. DREAM BIG. EXPECT MIRACLES. He is able to do more than we could imagine.
