Committed to Meaningful Connection
Last month, a group of students, staff, and their families gathered at the Oregon campus for a casual summer barbecue. Even in the middle of summer break, our community made time for meaningful connection by sharing a meal and memories together. Staying connected not only helps our students thrive academically, socially, and spiritually, but aligns our efforts with the biblical mandate to abide in Christ (John 15) and value each member of the broader church (1 Corinthians 12). People are the apple of God’s eye – and they are at the heart of our “WHY”!
Connect Day - our new student orientation experience – is another way we invite students into meaningful community, and it's coming up soon! Researchers in higher education have found that students who have a sense of belonging on their college campus are more likely to thrive in school, so we know that this part of our campus culture is important even for academic success.[1] New students at NU Oregon are not left to figure out college life on their own. They are purposefull[RG1] [2] y invited into the story God is writing at NU Oregon and encouraged to share life with our Jesus-first community. If you or someone you know is planning to attend NU Oregon this fall, mark your calendars for Connect Day on August 15th! No RSVP required – just complete your admissions application by July 21st.
