Becoming Virtuous Leaders

The fall semester at NU Oregon is well underway, and God is clearly at work among us! Our campus theme for this year is The Way of Courage: Walking with Honor and Boldness. Students and staff have engaged weekly in conversations focused on deep character development and becoming virtuous leaders. Our theme verse for the year is Proverbs 28:1,

“The wicked flee when no one pursues,
but the righteous are as bold as a lion.”

Acacia Gibson, a current student at NU Oregon and a member of Student Leadership, spent time this summer seeking God for this year’s theme alongside staff and other student leaders. This is what she said about how our theme has impacted her so far:

“When we began praying about this year’s theme, I had no idea it would impact the school the way it has in only 7 weeks. To hear from church and school leadership about the cost of integrity and the courage to be a person of character has been an inspiration to say the least. I see our NUO culture growing deeper into a place of honor & boldness.”
