Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.
Habakkuk 2:2
What three bold actions do you want to take in the balance of 2021? Taking time to write down your plans, visions or dreams is always a helpful step in seeing something move from just being an inspired thought to becoming an impactful reality.
For years I have made it a personal practice to do this weekly, monthly, and annually. I found this simple exercise has helped me stay focused and motivated in taking bold action. In this year of opportunity, it has been necessary that I continue to review the bold actions that the Network leadership established at the beginning of 2021. This has required us to reset schedules and systems during this post-COVID year.
This practice is not intended to become a burden, but rather to be a tool that keeps us focused on our God-ordained mission. It is why it is valuable to revisit the Great Commission often as leaders and ministers.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20
Just reading these powerful lines of Jesus remind us of why we are doing what we do. It keeps us from becoming distracted, defeated, or depressed by the divisive chatter and commentary shared on social media or the cable news.
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”
Exodus 34:27
In the weeks ahead, you will have numerous opportunities to impact your church, your community and even your county. I want to encourage you to pause and write down three bold actions you will take in the final months of 2021. Perhaps it will be introducing a new teaching series, creating a new community outreach, beginning a local school cleanup day, starting a new prayer gathering, launching a new weekly Bible study for men, women, or students, initiating plans to launch a PAC in an unreached Oregon community or adding new missionaries to your monthly support.
Maybe one of your bold actions will be to attempt to repair a broken friendship, invest more quality time with your family or in starting a new eating plan. The possibilities will be many. Prayerfully select just three bold actions. Let’s see what great things God will do in and through your life.
...you become 42% more likely to achieve your goals and dreams, simply by writing them down on a regular basis.
