Watch and Pray

Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping.
“Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter.
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.
The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”

Matthew 26:40-41

Observations

1. Be alert to the subtleness of temptations.
2. Prayer is essential to be able to resist temptation.
3. Choose victory and not defeat.

Today's Prayer

Father, I call on you today to help me remain vigilant and victorious.
Help me to do the right things and make good choices.

I will continue to watch and pray
so that I will not be a victim to the devil’s temptations.
I want my words and deeds to be pleasing to You.
