During the fourth watch of the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.
Matthew 14:25-29
When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear.
But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
“Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
1. Fight your fears with God-given courage.
2. Responding to the Lord will always set you up for the remarkable.
3. If you want to walk on water, you have to get out of the boat.
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for helping me overcome the obstacles of life.
Thank you for bidding me to come to you and giving me faith to respond.
Today, help me overcome my fears and reservations.
Help me to get out of the boat of defeat and circumstances.
Help me to walk where I’ve never walked before.
I will follow your lead and willingly step out in faith.
Be with those who are going through the valley of grief and sorrow.
I lift them up and ask that you will strengthen them and give them peace.
In Jesus’ name, amen!
