Ministry Coaching
 & Women in Ministry

Joy Wilson

We had no idea what we were going to face as we approached March 2020. The year started strong with Oregon Garden Getaway and an incredible missions trip to Ecuador. The dreams that were birthed in those two events shifted and carried us through the rest of the year into new and amazing opportunities.

Ministry Coaching

We believe coaching equips leaders to be healthy spiritually, emotionally, physically and relationally, so they can be effective in their ministries and lives. Coaching is at the heart of our Executive Team. Each one has made this a priority by actively coaching leaders here in Oregon and around the world.

Coaching has propelled me to develop and follow through on taking proactive, intentional, and purposeful steps in fulfilling my God-given destiny. It has been a joyful life experience challenging me to perpetuate a culture of coaching within my influence. Motto: Be coached by others and coach others.
George Nagato
Coaching helped me first to discover how I’m “wired” and understand my strengths and weaknesses. Secondly it helped me set goals for my life and ministry and helped me make a game plan with the steps necessary to keep me progressing.

Ecuador

In February, ten women took an amazing missions trip to Ecuador. Laurel Ellis, our resident Missionary, coordinated several events during our time there. While there the team aided in several events that impacted the lives of hundreds of women and children.

Oregon Garden Getaway

Oregon Garden Getaway is always a highlight of the year and 2020 was no exception with a great attendance. In the first weekend of March we had a record 150+ ladies attend the Oregon Garden Getaway. It ended up being the last Network event before COVID-19 shut everything down.

Connected: Near & Far

During the ongoing months we made a shift: I started zoom calls on Wednesday mornings to connect with Women in Ministry throughout the state. Over 200 ladies participated in the calls that provided connection and care. These times were so important during these months. Another highlight was twelve Zoom calls with workers around the world. We shared together, laughed together and on occasion cried together. Each call seemed to be so timely. For me, personally, the calls have been a highlight. Though this has been a year that caused us to rethink ministry, I’m thankful for all that was accomplished by the women of Oregon.
2020 was not a year of defeat, but truly a year of dreams for our Network. In the midst of what was called a “disastrous year,” we can testify that our all-sufficient God demonstrated His power and faithfulness.
