A Gentle Answer

Bill Wilson
 •

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. The tongue of the wise commends knowledge, but the mouth of the fool gushes folly. The eyes of the LORD are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good. The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.

Proverbs 15:14

Observations

  1. Avoid harsh words; use gentle words.
  2. Allow your words to bring healing and hope to the hurting.
  3. Live in the confidence that God is watching over you.

Today's Prayer

Father, I thank you for your continued grace and mercy. Thank you for sending people my way that speak life to me. Today, I pray that You will help me to choose my words wisely. Help me to guard my words and speak with a spirit of genuine love and concern. May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable to you. I pray that I will encourage others today. In Jesus’ name, amen!
