A God-Given Vision or Purpose of What Could and Should Be
What is God’s dream for you in 2020? There is no question in my mind that 2020 will be a defining year for your future in so many ways. I believe 2020 will be a year in which you can expect God to place in your heart dreams that will reset, renovate and raise your ministries to new levels.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us… Ephesians 3:20
I have discovered that God-given dreams always begin with a surrendered heart. The prayer of Jesus should be our prayer, “not as I will, but as you will" (Matthew 26:39). A God-given dream positions a person to envision or imagine what could and should be in the season ahead. Those in the Bible who were given God dreams, were stirred by God to believe for territory, harvest, victories, provision, protection, walls brought down and walls built up. They saw the coming of the Messiah and the establishment of The Church. Divine dreams cause a person to comprehend the possibilities and progress that can be made in the future.
God has raised you up and will show you a picture of something that has not yet been realized and will give you a plan to see it fulfilled. God will also give you a plan and strategy for it becoming a reality.

When Joy and I were called to serve as lead pastors of Portland Christian Center, I remember walking into the large sanctuary and envisioning every seat occupied. At the time there was only one person for every six seats attending. Sunday morning attendance was at its lowest in 10 years. So, I asked the Lord for a strategy to see his dream fulfilled. God began to give me the steps that needed to be taken. Over the coming months and years, the dream became a reality. Yes, it was hard work at times, and it didn’t happen overnight, but it was a thrill to see what God did. After being selected as the Network Leader, I again asked God for a vision of what could and should be in the OMN. Since then numerous initiatives have been introduced and realized and God continues to download his dream for the Network.

Our Network Theme for 2020 is dream. This is the year for us all to believe for BIG and BOLD dreams. I encourage you to take some time to seek the Lord and ask him for the dreams he has for you and the ministry you lead. Write them down and begin to strategize how they can become a reality.
