Listening

Bill Wilson
 •

…So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
The LORD came and stood there,
calling as at the other times, "Samuel! Samuel!"
Then Samuel said, "Speak, for your servant is listening."
And the LORD said to Samuel:
"See, I am about to do something in Israel
that will make the ears of everyone who hears about it tingle.

Observation
1. Continue to develop a listening ear to the voice of the Lord.

2. When God's speaks, it will be with a purpose and a plan.

3. God does speak often through the unexpected.

Prayer
Father, I thank you for calling me by name. I thank you for speaking to me personally.
Lord, I will make an effort to listen carefully to your words.
I will anticipate your guidance and direction
in every decision that I will make today.
I will look forward to you speaking to me through your Word and
 the Holy Spirit's prompting.
I will be alert to you speaking to me through circumstances and godly counsel.
Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening!
I will expect you to work in a mighty way in and through my life.
In Jesus' name, amen!
