People Count

The LORD spoke to Moses in the tent of meeting in the Desert of Sinai on the first day of the second month of the second year after the Israelites came out of Egypt. He said: "Take a census of the whole Israelite community by their clans and families, listing every man by name, one by one. You and Aaron are to count according to their divisions all the men in Israel who are twenty years old or more and able to serve in the army. One man from each tribe, each of them the head of his family, is to help you.

Observation

• People matter to God and they should matter to us.
• Taking time with the Lord will always prepare you for fulfilling your calling.
• Take time to take a "census" of all that God has given you and you will serve more effectively.

Prayer
Thank you, Heavenly Father, for the personal attention you give me. Thank you for knowing me by name. Thank you for the gifts and talents you have bestowed on me. Thank you for leading me in the way that I should go. Help me to better use what you have given me to honor you and help others. Take my life and let it be, consecrated Lord to thee. My time, talents and treasures belong to you. Lead me to great things.
