Do Not Love the World

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world‚the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life ‚comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

1 John 2:15-17

Observation

• Right values will produce right virtues.
• God values self-control, generosity and humility.
• Pursuing the will of God will bring earthly and eternal rewards.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, I want to value what you value. I long to be in your will and pursue the right priorities. Help me to resist greed and be generous. Help me to filter my thoughts with your Word. Help me to guard my words and actions. Help me to use my time, talent and treasure wisely. In Jesus' name, amen!
