Introducing Faculty that Make A Difference: Lanaya Wade, Teaching Psychology Courses

Lanaya Wade is new to the Salem faculty this year. Lanaya feels called to serve those who are emotionally and spiritually unwell, and fulfills that calling through healing work in psychology. She says, “I have always felt a burden for justice, to help those who are helpless.” She relies on the Holy Spirit to lead her as she responds to others’ pain. As a teacher, Lanaya desires to help students learn to serve others and learn to connect deeply in healthy ways.

Lanaya completed her bachelor’s degree at Northwest University, so she understands the commitments and perspectives unique to NU’s approach to Christian higher education. She is currently earning her doctorate in psychology at George Fox University, and her dissertation research is on a psychological perspective of joy as a fruit of the Spirit. She brings great joy to her classroom! If you have students who would like to learn about psychology with instructors like Lanaya, contact us at [email protected]
