In June of 2018, Northwest University at Salem is intending to launch a Master of Arts in Ministry Leadership program. The MAML program equips ministry leaders with a theoretical framework for understanding leadership, mission, culture, globalization, vision, strategic planning, and other critical leadership issues. The program can be completed in two years or extended to fit your unique schedule. This program emphasizes the need for leaders to live out the gospel so that it is seen and experienced in community. The coursework is followed by a culminating project integrating research and program course content from the program to solve a real issue in ministry. The M.A. in Ministry Leadership provides a theological and theoretical framework that is both academically rigorous and practical for effective leadership for the twenty-first century church. The 36 credit program can be completed in 24 months or extended to fit the student's schedule. Purposefully structured to interface with one's ministry context, it is intended for those who have busy schedules and may be involved in full-time ministry. Students meet together at our local Salem campus for eleven, four-day intensive sessions, typically meeting 8:00am–5:00pm, Tuesday–Friday, approximately once every two months. Individual reading and writing plus online interactive work with fellow students supplement the classroom experience. The final course in the program is a research project or thesis related to the student's ministry and/or interests.
