Amazing Year for NextGen Camps

This summer may have been our most effective Summer Camps season in the past 8 years. Our purpose in facilitating summer camps for our network churches is to provide an opportunity for youth and kids to encounter God and His church through recreation, student interaction, worship, Bible teaching, and a time to response to God at the altar. We plan all our camps around this purpose and these three core values: community, communion and commission.
Our first core value is to develop a deeper community among our network churches and their youth and kids. This past summer we had about 1,200 total people present at our 7 OMN Camps, representing over 50 of our network churches. They all spent the week playing and praying together.
Our second core value is communion. Our Camp Leadership Teams work hard and pray hard to see students grow spiritually through camp, so it brings me great joy to tell you that 83 of those who came to camp reported making a decision to follow Jesus for the very first time, while another 248 said they re-committed their life to Jesus at camp. In addition, we had 99 testify being baptized in the Holy Spirit and 110 experiencing a physical healing. Now that is encountering God!
Our third core value is commission. We desire that all campers leave camp knowing that God has a plan for their life and desires to use them now in their homes, schools and churches. By the end of our camp season, we had 75 campers report feeling a call to full-time ministry; many of them reporting a call to missionary service. I’m believing for a big harvest this fall due to our summer camps.
Allow me to finish this recap with the words of two of our campers, “Camp was amazing!” “This has been the best camp experience I have ever had.”
