Lead Pastor

Bill Wilson

2020 began with a declaration that it was the year to DREAM. None of us could envision that it would become a year of crisis, challenge, and change. Within a few weeks into the new year, we were confronted with a global pandemic, civil insurgence, racial unrest, political polarization, financial crisis, painful loss, and mass closures. To add to these unforeseen troubles, Oregon was hit with 37 destructive wildfires. We all felt the sting of loss, and the distress of dashed dreams. Our General Superintendent, Doug Clay, said of 2020, “we encountered…a year of disorienting challenges.” Amen!

Bold Dreams

2020 was not a year of defeat, but truly a year of dreams for our Network. In the midst of what was called a “disastrous year,” we can testify that our all-sufficient God demonstrated His power and faithfulness.

The majority of our churches were able to respond creatively and effectively to the needs of their communities. Reports reveal that hundreds of peoples came to Christ and many answers to prayer were experienced.

Prayer Tour

Although most of our Network gatherings and events had to be cancelled, one of the few that successfully took place was our 2020 Prayer Tour. Now remember, we did not know what was ahead, but God did. Nearly 500 pastors and ministers met in one of the 18 prayer stops to pray for fresh vision, protection, healing, wisdom, and favor. It proved to be just what we would need for the days ahead.

Looking Forward

I commend the OMN family. As a whole, we did not yield to fear, follow false prophecies, or succumb to political divisions. We stayed the course and stayed true to the mission and message of God.

2021 is the Year of Opportunity. God is opening doors for each of us to walk through. We are compelled by scripture “to make the most of every opportunity, for the days are evil.” So, lift up your head and let not your heart be troubled this is the year for opportunities.

Joy and I are honored to serve for such a time as this. I am deeply grateful to our executive team, our support team and our presbyters who have walked with us during 2020. We are blessed as a Network to have such extraordinary men and women of faith and faithfulness.

You are loved and appreciated!
