As a young couple, Mike Quinn and his wife Teresa began serving at Elim Chapel in Ocean Beach where Mike eventually went on staff and worked on his bachelor’s degree from Point Loma Nazarene University. He went on to obtain a Master of Divinity degree from Bethel Seminary but in the midst of his educational journey was called to lead a 13-person church in La Jolla in 1986. Little did Mike know back then that his dream of planting churches would result in that tiny group growing into what is now Newbreak Church, a multisite with six campuses and nearly 3,000 people in attendance on an average weekend. Newbreak also has a Swahili congregation, a Korean congregation and an Arabic congregation.
Through his relevant and authentic style of preaching and equipping leaders, Mike encourages others to live and share their faith with humility and grace. Mike is passionate about his wife, his kids and grandkids, and sharing his faith whether it be at a local restaurant, or speaking internationally in places like Vietnam, South America, or Fiji. Mike would tell you that his other great love is surfing!
Carter Moss has been a multisite Campus Pastor for 14 years, and launched a new campus at Newbreak Church under Pastor Mike Quinn 4 years ago, that has seen consistent growth and huge community involvement from the start. Carter also writes regular articles for some small groups websites, and has led breakouts on missional living, small groups, and multisite at conferences throughout the country.
OMN is on mission to develop effective leaders and establish at least one healthy A/G church in every incorporated city in the state of Oregon. We believe God is raising up BOLD leaders and new church plants for such a time as this, to change the landscape of our state.
