Living The Divine Dream

Are you living a Dream? Earlier this year, our Son, Phil and our daughter, Christy announced they had a dream to run the 2009 New York Marathon. For the 10 months they began to train and qualify for the 26.2 mile endurance run, to fulfill the dream. After months of grueling workouts and long runs, on November 1, 2009, I watch them not only begin the race but finish the race.

For Phil, this was a celebration of 10 years since his successful brain surgery. The scripture God gave me for the kids was in Hebrews 12:1-2 “…Run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…” It was an amazing day for the whole family, a Dream became a Reality.

Don’t you love it when Dreams become Realities? Ezra begins with this line, …the LORD moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia. Divine Dreams always commence when God moves your heart with a plan, a purpose or a mission that he wants you to accomplish. This is what God did, so that Ezra could not only rebuild the Temple, but see a Spiritual Revival in the nation. You’ll find the full account in Ezra.

A Divine Dream became more than just a thought in your mind, it is something that gets a hold of you and you find yourself driven by it.

I am convinced it is time for us to pray for Divine Dreams. Seek the Lord for a new season, renewed vision and exciting future for yourself and the ministry you lead. Let me encourage you to allow God to give you a Divine Dream for 2010. Don’t underestimate what God wants to do in through you in the coming year. Dream Big Dream!

BETHEL PARK – NORTHWEST UNIVERSITY
I wanted to share with you the exciting developments regarding Bethel Park. The Network Presbytery is working with the Northwest University Board to expand the University’s use and possession of several portions of Bethel Park for the University’s Salem Campus (formerly - Salem Bible College). This is a win/win for both our Network Family and our University.

This school year introduced the first full year of fully accredited classes at the University’s Salem Campus. This is a major step and provides student a quality education at about a 1/3 of the cost of the Kirkland, Campus. As a result of the University now located at Bethel Park, the school is now able to offer Campus Housing. Rooms in the Book Center have been remolded to accommodate students and several are taking advance of this convenient and affordable program.

In addition, consideration is being given to Graduate Courses through the University at the Salem Campus for pastors/leaders in the region. The school is preparing for the day when 200 students will be enrolled at the Salem Campus in Bethel Park.

These actions are bringing new life and purpose for the Bethel Park Campus. Daily students now come on to the campus to prepare for their future in ministry and service. There is no better way to use these facilities dedicated for the Glory of God.

I encourage every Network Church to consider adding Northwest University–Salem to your monthly missions support. A gift of $100 - $50 - $25 a month from our nearly 200 Churches will help make an investment in the future of our youth in the Oregon Ministry Network.

This so strikes my heart at the "key" to unlocking Oregon to all out Holy Ghost revival. I believe that King Cyrus' heart was moved because of prayers of faith. I also know that, without a doubt, Brother Wilson's declaration of preparation and prayer are the elements that will bring about God's divine dreams He has placed in us. The prepartation for our mission, our vision, our individual destiny IS prayer. Prayer is the preparation. As I was sharing with my friend, Pastor Keith Standridge, this morning about how many in the church today do not know what it is to "pray through". We discussed together (and my heart burned as we shared)that praying through is when God burdens us with His purposes, His vision for a certain thing. It might be for all the souls in a community, it might be the breaking down of a satanic stronghold, whatever. And we take hold of God in our closet, as the Holy Spirit takes hold of us, it may be over time, we begin to weep, we feel the pain and desire of God concerning the issue, and this may move into travialing prayer. Travailing prayer is where you feel like you are in actual child birth over the issue, physically, emotionally. You feel at times you may turn inside out at you weep over the desires of God. Then comes the moment of absolute and complete peace from God concerning the thing. You know that you know that you know, God has granted in the spirit the thing you have sought Him for. It has been "birthed" in the spirit. Then comes the speaking of the word of faith. We affirm that this will take place, that this will manifest in the physical world for we have the assurance from God that we have obtained the thing we have interceded and prayed for. THAT is praying through.
This is what we need more of, this is what Rev. Cap Marks is doing in the "prayer initiative" he has begun in the Capital Section. I pray, God raise up others throughout the State the will take this banner and bring the Church back to victory, back to wholesale intercessory prayer.
