Welcome To The New Website

Here it is. The shiny, new Oregon Ministry Network website. Now before you rush off and start exploring, there are a few things I should tell you.

There's still a lot to be done around here. You're going to find a fair number of links that don't really take you anywhere worth going . . . yet. But that's only temporary. Every day those areas will be growing. Blogs, videos, podcasts, fantastic PDFs you can't even imagine and more will be appearing all over the place.

Here's my personal list of what I hope the website will be.

A Window
We want all of you out there to know what we're doing and who we are. That's the whole idea behind the blogs. It's a great way for anyone out there to get to know us and follow along with what we're doing and interact with us.

A Resource
Our website already provides numerous resources, including: the career exchange, credentialing info, an upcoming events calendar, and a few others. But it's time to ramp up the resources we're providing. I know all the departments in the Network are going to have ideas for what they can provide on the new site, but let me just say, I want to help every ministry out there with their media needs in any way I can. In my next blog entry I'll go into a lot more detail about what I mean.

A Community
I know, I know. You're already a part of too many online communities. But this one is going to be pretty specialized. It's going to be customized to the needs of the Network. Do we need a forum where youth leaders can discuss whether or not an altar call should involve text messaging? Then we'll start one! Any need that we can address online, we want to. And you are invited to be as involved as you like. Whatever you come to the site looking for, we want it to be great experience.

Our website is a tool for our ministry and yours. A lot of research and planning has gone into the foundation for this new site. There isn't much here at the moment, but possibilities are infinite and it'll be growing every day. So, please come back and see what we're up to and let us know what you think.

New Web site

Hi Jared-
Great job on the new web site.
Thanks so much for including the information regarding our Missions Trips- I appreciate it.
Blessings on you-

Getting in to this thing

I have no idea if I am properly entered into the system in this new website. I went through the rigamarole twice, then finally seemed to get on track when it wanted a picture of us. My picture, when sized down, was too narrow, so I went back and fiddled around with PhotoShop to put it on a wider background, re-entered it, and when I did, the "Webpage cannot be shown" page came up and kicked me out of everything. All I was really trying to do was send Finance a message; but I'll do that tomorrow. If you can tell me anything pertinent, please do. Somehow, my name did come up, even though it never told me "congratulations" or gave a sign I had successfuly navigated Cape Horn. Help! Thank you!

Jared
This looks just wonderful. The colors are great and the logo as well. One suggestion Maybe the font could be one size larger or the text a little darker as that will help the over 50 group!
Thanks for your hard work!

Problem posting comment

Jared-

I'm loving the new logo and site redesign. I'm excited to see what the finished product will look like (I guess with web design, there's really no "finished" product, it's constantly evolving). I do notice that when I try to post to this comment box that the "submit" button doesn't display. I have to tab down to it and hit enter. All I see is the button outline, it's buried underneath the page footer.

Anyhow, keep up the good work.

Thanks,
Mike
