Moving Forward
If you look in the blog menu, you'll see that there are some new links. This is an important step forward for the website. As posts are added to the new blogs they will appear in the "Recent Posts" list on the right side of the homepage (and some other pages). You can also subscribe to the various blogs with an RSS reader (such as Google Reader). The blogs are a core part of the website and now that the basic structure for them is up and running, some of the other features on our list will start showing up.
Next on the list: Donations. (Edit: they're here!) A lot of people have requested to be able to make their donations online and, of course, we want to make that possible. There was an adjustment period internally while we transitioned to using PayPal. We're now ready to have donations available online again, so we'll put up a simple donation page that should do the job for now. Eventually we'll upgrade the online payment system to a slicker, more integrated solution.

Here it is. The shiny, new Oregon Ministry Network website. Now before you rush off and start exploring, there are a few things I should tell you.
There's still a lot to be done around here. You're going to find a fair number of links that don't really take you anywhere worth going . . . yet. But that's only temporary. Every day those areas will be growing. Blogs, videos, podcasts, fantastic PDFs you can't even imagine and more will be appearing all over the place.
Here's my personal list of what I hope the website will be.
A Window
We want all of you out there to know what we're doing and who we are. That's the whole idea behind the blogs. It's a great way for anyone out there to get to know us and follow along with what we're doing and interact with us.
A Resource
Our website already provides numerous resources, including: the career exchange, credentialing info, an upcoming events calendar, and a few others. But it's time to ramp up the resources we're providing. I know all the departments in the Network are going to have ideas for what they can provide on the new site, but let me just say, I want to help every ministry out there with their media needs in any way I can. In my next blog entry I'll go into a lot more detail about what I mean.
